A good battery monitor is the heart of any battery powered system, essentially it is the fuel gauge for the batteries. When correctly setup, these devices offer accurate and essential information on the state of charge of the batteries plus historical data for such things as deepest depth of discharge and much more. A relay output can be used to start a standby generator or to activate an alarm when certain conditions are met. In its simplest form it can indicate battery condition in a simple to understand percentage readout, with 100% equalling a full battery.
